Automatic backup relies on a system service to run. This service does not

|
The MP system and small inclusion products in
concentrates/compounds/mixes ?
Small inclusion, nutrient rich feeds such as urea and specific protected amino acids will have
their specific nutritional effects diluted in the FiM MP system when converted to a concentrate
(i.e. saved in the Feed library with average nutrient values).
For example, urea is an extreme feed which needs to be handled specificial within most feeding
systems. For example, it is given a protein value of 288% which is logically impossible. To
estimate its supply of rumen nitrogen, the system also gives it unusual degradability values
i.e. sN=1, aN=1 while bN etc.=0.
These values predict rumen nitrogen supply accurately when urea is included in the diet in its
own right i.e. either as an ingredient directly in the Formulation screen or as part of a Farm
premix.
However, when it is included as part a concentrate its unique values are diluted within the mix
so that the mix no longer predicts MP components (particularly DUP) correctly.
The advice is that urea or any small inclusion feed of this type should not included to be
saved as a concentrate but are added to the diet as separate feeds.
The use of the Farm editor will also overcome the problem as it stores and uses the component
parts of a mixture rather than creating an average analysis.
