About DietCheck

DietCheck has been developed by 2 nutritionists - Jonathan Blake and Geoff Hughes.  

They are supported by Julian Waters in New Zealand who covers program development and sales in the Far East. 

 Jonathan Blake

Jonathan   was educated as an Agricultural Biochemist, and after studying rumen amino acid metabolism for his PhD, spent 4 years at the University of Cambridge teaching nutrition to medical and veterinary students.  He worked as a nutritionist for a major feed compounder responsible for the nutritional and raw material specifications of all dairy, beef, calf and sheep feeds.  Hewas Technical Secretary for the ‘Feed into Milk’ project and is now Technical Secretary of the Forage Analytical Assurance group which assures the quality of silage analysis in the UK.  Since 1993 he has provided nutritional support to farmers, feed suppliers and compounders.  He began DietCheck with Geoff in 1997.

 Julian Waters  

Following  Julian's  research at the University of Bristol, where his PhD reviewed MP system and involved checking the ME & MP system in the 1993 UK feeding advisory manual, Julian worked for the UK agricultural advisory service and then a major commercial feed supply company.  He worked with Geoff to develop early computer feeding programs and since 1996 has lived and worked in New Zealand. After seven years with a major New Zealand nutrition company Julian has established his own independent nutritional consultancy.

 Geoff Hughes

Geoff  (joint founder of DietCheck) has now retired to France after many years guiding the company from its start in 1997.

He has left a strong vibrant company which leads the way in nutritional models and software.
